Bates Mill Store Bedspreads
ByBates Mill Store Bedspreads: During the early part of the decade of the 1850's workers completed the first of the several Bates Mill buildings in Lewiston, Maine. Constructed along the Androscoggin River to the West and a series of canals to the East that supplied power to the mills as water cascaded through turbines back to the river, thousands of Maine craftsmen and women worked around the clock to provide the now famous lines of Bates Bedspreads to customers from all over the World.

Maine Heritage Weavers, Inc., has been in business for five years. Staffed by former Bates employees and conducting business out of one of the former Bates Mills, [tag]Maine Heritage Weavers[/tag] manufactures even higher quality bedspreads on looms similiar to those used for nearly a century and a half by Bates Manufacturing Company.
These high quality matelasse and terry cotton bedspreads are produced from the highest quality yarn available on the now famous Jacquard looms. Styles and colors vary depending on the taste of the customer. Bedspreads with historical significance, or those designed for specific seasons, customers, or locations such as the "Tuscany", or the "Clamshell", are available in all sizes.
The Bates Mill Store has been the factory direct Bates-style bedding store for over 50 years. Employees of Maine Heritage Weavers and the [tag]Bates Mill Store[/tag] look forward to providing customers with its product line. They affectionately describe their bedspreads as "loomed to be heirloomed". Just ask your grandmother, she'll recognize the Bates style bedspreads.
