Chenille and Candlewick Bedspreads
ByCandlewick bedspreads are some times referred to as chenille bedspreads.
CCandlewick bedspreads were named so because the length of the tuft (or [tag]terry loop[/tag]) on the bedspread was as long as a candle's wick. American Tradition and Martha's Choice woven by Maine Heritage Weavers are examples of candlewicks, also known as terry loop. Martha's Choice is available in antique, white, blue/white or sage/white. [tag]American Tradition[/tag] is available in white or antique.
Maine Heritage Weavers has continued the tradition of weaving quality bedspreads, which Begain in 1850 by Benjamin Bates. They are located in Lewiston, Maine, in one of the Bates Mills buildings. They weave on [tag]Jacquard [/tag]and dobby looms.
