Matelasse twin bedspreads have been woven on looms in Lewiston, Maine, for the past 150 years at the former Bates Mill.
Now, these cotton bedspreads are offered in a variety of colors and designs by Maine Heritage Weavers, a company that has former Bates employees weaving bedspreads on looms similar to those used by the former Bates Fabrics.
These bedspreads are loomed with raised fabric and embossed surface designs and are being sold throughout the United States at www.batesmillstore.com.
