USA woven hobnail bedding is made in Lewiston, Maine at Maine Heritage Weavers. Martha Washington’s Choice, our most popular design, is available in white, antique, blue and sage. American Tradition, a lighter weight candlewick, is woven in antique and white.

The employees at Maine Heritage Weavers are mostly former employees of Bates Fabrics who still weave the high quality Bates-style bedspreads. Martha Washington’s Choice (a chenille-type/candlewick bedspread) is the most popular design woven at this Maine textile company. Also remembered as George Washington’s Choice bedspreads, Martha Washington’s Choice is a Candlewick terry, although many people refer to it as [tag]chenille[/tag], which is the same cloth as candlewick but the “loop” is cut.

In addition to standard bedspread sizes, Martha Washington’s Choice is available in standard coverlet sizes, standard shams, king size shams and throws. This one hundred percent high grade cotton bedspread is preshrunk and machine washable. In addition, fade-resistant dyes are used to avoid fading. A bedspread makes a wonderful gift that is sure to last for years.
