American Tradition, Spirit of America, John Adams and Martha Washington’s Choice are woven by Maine Heritage Weavers and are prime examples of chenilles also known as terry loop, candlewicks or hobnails. Candlewick bedspreads were named so because the length of the tuft (or terry loop) on the bedspread was as long as a candle’s wick.

Martha Washington’s Choice, one of www.mhweavers.com most popular designs is available in solid colors of white or antique. It is also available in standard coverlet sizes and is the heavier weight of the terry loop designs. American Tradition is available in white or antique in a lighter weight than Martha Washington’s Choice.

Maine Heritage Weavers is one of the last textile companies in the United States weaving these luxurious coverlets, bedspreads and throws. They are preshrunk, machine washable, and fade resistant due to the high quality yarns and dyes used in the manufacturing process.
